Episode Guide

Season 1

Pilot

Original Air Date: August 14th 2001

Description: Scotty, Vaughn, and Jane are The Problem, an up and coming rock band ready to break into the big leagues when they discover a strange amulet that enables them to see dead people. As cool as that may seem, the last thing these rising stars need is harassment from dead Colonial soldiers. We've all seen Popstars, we all know how much work there is when you're a new band. Just imagine if Eden's Crush had to do battle with the undead in between makeovers.
It's enough to cause creative differences. The bandmates go their separate ways, and ghosts begin to track them down. A dead trucker asks Scotty to give his former fiancé the ring he bought her before he was killed on his way to propose. A dead rocker warns Vaughn of an A&R executive's evil ways. Finally, a pilgrim who last possessed the amulet appears to tell Jane what's up. According to him, once Vaughn recited the Latin inscription on the relic, The Problem became The Possessors of The Amulet of Sauryn. What the Hell does that mean? It means not only can they see ghosts, but they have to help them until they die, at which point they will become ghosts until there's a new Possessor. Kinda cool. Kinda sucks.
After each member of The Problem helps a ghost make peace and move on, the band reunites. Although their manager, Dennis, thinks the ghosts they're seeing are drug-induced, The Problem resolves to stick together, help their decomposing friends, and rock on. If only it were that easy...
